| Introduction
|
It is an undiscovered, enchanting country, with small villages surrounded by gentle hills
covered with vineyards and forests. The capricious roads running up the hilltops and
descending to the valleys give an unforgettable experience to every biker. This hospitable
region is the world of gentle nature, peace and calmness.
We are in the South-Western edge of Hungary, in the Southern end of Zala County, near the
Croatian and Slovenian borders, approximately 230 kilometres from Budapest.
The South-Zala Forest-region Bicycle Route runs 90 kilometres on low traffic forestry
roads between the small towns called Letenye and Lenti. We await all dear travellers with
information points, accommodation, restaurants, recreational facilities and biker
background services!
The South-Zala Forest-region Bicycle Route is the first element of the Happy Bike system
which is being set up at several places in the country. The Happy Bike is a country-wide
bicycle tourism network, which provides a compact package of built bike routs, signed bike
routs, services (accommodation, eating facilities, bike rental, service, etc.),
information (maps, information boards, websites, addresses) and places of interest and
programmes for the bikers.
